Being a steward of the Lord's property sounds like a huge responsibility! Just the way this section started, worried me with all the talk of cursings and being doomed to hell if someone is found guilty and repenteth not. Although I agree with the consequences of transgressing against the Lord in these circumstances, I hope I am never found on that side of Him. The organizations of the United Order were great though, and it was good that the Lord established them and gave stewardships to His saints so that the church was provided for. I know that all things were done for the good of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the last dispensation.
My experience with responsibility for the welfare of the saints was a while ago, but I remember the feeling I had when I was called. I didn't feel worthy, ready, or capable, but I was willing to do what I could, all I could, to fulfill that calling. I didn't even serve in the calling for a long time, but I am grateful that I had the calling because I learned how to listen to the guidance from the spirit in trying to help those who I had a responsibility for. I have a testimony that callings are given for a purpose and it is my duty as a follower of Christ to accept any calling, and do my best to fulfill and magnify my callings.
