I know that the Book of Mormon is a real book and the events truly happened even though some people doubted it because of the way it was given to the inhabitants of the earth. Denying a book that you know to be authentic just because you find out it was revealed by an angel of God is hypocritical and absurd. The professors who did that astonish me, and I hope they finally came to their senses about the truth before their deaths or I pity their fate.
As far as Joseph being a money-digger, I think that he found the best treasure of all, a wife, while being employed! Of course, I'm sure he got some good experience and life lessons and such, but Emma was obviously something good that happened while digging and finding nothing with that job. I also think that the way Martin Harris just gives them $50 to help them move is incredibly selfless and I would love to know more details about their meeting and early friendship. I know there are many things about Martin that are negative because of the lost pages, but he actually helped bring to pass the translation of the Book of Mormon and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am grateful to him for that.
