Section 94-95

One of the most comforting scriptures are found in my readings today and I love that the scriptures have the ability to lift my soul when I read them. I feel like the Lord has chastened me many times and given me rude awakenings when I feel guilt for some of the mistakes I have made, but I know that He does this because He loves me (96:1). The Lord chastens His people so they will seek forgiveness for their sins, so everytime I feel guilty for things, I always assume that the Lord is trying to tell me He loves me and wants me to choose righteously. 

The second thing I want to say is that I miss studying church history while reading studying the Doctrine and Covenants like in seminary and institute. I say this because knowing what is happening to the saints when each section is written make it easier to understand why the revelations are important. Some I know are important because of the message that applies to more than one instance, but some I need explained in the section headings, then some (like today's) needed more explanation! Either way, I love reading the scriptures and feeling the spirit.
